(Inter)National Hugging Day

Today is “National Hugging Day”! (In Germany: Weltknuddeltag)

Odd? Nice though. Perfect for a chilly January day, don’t you think?

It was thought up 26 years ago by Rev. Kevin Zaborney from Michigan, who felt that Americans did not show their feelings enough and he wanted to change that. He had read a report which claimed that hugging reduces stress and can lower the blood pressure. (Read more about National Hugging Day here.)

So, give someone – lots of people – a hug today!
