Forget-me-not (Myosotis)
I have noticed recently just how many different blues there are in my garden. Not only the shades, but somehow the texture. Suede, silk, paper, wax…
Common Bugle (Ajuga reptans)
Bird’s-eye Speedwell (Veronica chamaedrys)
Siberian bugloss (Brunnera macrophylla)
The flowers are very similar to Myosotis, but the leaves are quite different.
Blue pulmonaria/Lungwort/Jerusalem cowslip (Pulmonaria angustifolia “Blue Ensign”)
Iris
All of these flowers are in bloom at the moment… some in the “uncultivated” part of the garden!
I Love the blues Cathy, even those dreamy alpine blues!
With the word “alpine” you remind me that I don’t have an alpine Gentian in my garden… a must for a rockery in Germany! Thanks for commenting! 🙂
You educate me at every turn Cathy!
Simply gorgeous! My favourite colour in the garden!
Yes, the forget-me-not blue especially is something special!
The blue flower – famous in the period of german Romanticism (literature). I like these blue-coloured flowers. Unsere Iris blühen noch nicht.
Our iris only started opening on Friday. A few more are open today. The blue flower is full of symbolism in England too. Maybe will do a post on it one day! Thanks Herbstbaum! 🙂
Blue is my favorite color. Beautiful photos!
Elaine
Thanks Elaine. The speedwell is all over the lawn this year!
Like the blue of the lakes… one of the reasons I came to live in these parts! Lovely.
There is absolutely nothing that compares with the blues of mountain lakes! Thank you for stopping by Verity. 🙂
your camera serves great cathy, it eloquently translates the beauty of these flowers…by the way, forget-me-not was mentioned in one of my poems, though it was not the main subject, mentioning it gave me such chills..will post it in near future 🙂
Thanks Jymiely. It’s encouraging when people write such nice things about my photos as I am really an amateur! Will look out for your forget-me-not poem! 🙂
we amateurs could see something that profs sometimes forget to see: passion :)it reflects on your pictures 🙂
The passion is certainly there, I’m just so glad you can see it! Thanks Jymiely!
You have made my day Cathy. I have this thing about blue flowers, I can’t get enough. Thanks for sharing such utter loveliness. 🙂

Thanks Simone! And thank you for all your comments… you’re my top commenter! 😀
Some of my favourite spring flowers 🙂
Forget-me-not and speedwell are old favourites of mine too… such pretty delicate petals. Thanks for commenting Anna!
A great collection of blues Cathy. Love that perfect iris.
The irises are wonderful this year… hope we don’t get any heavy rain for a few days!
