Dreamy Blues

Forget-me-not (Myosotis)

I have noticed recently just how many different blues there are in my garden. Not only the shades, but somehow the texture. Suede, silk, paper, wax…

Common Bugle (Ajuga reptans)

Bird’s-eye Speedwell  (Veronica chamaedrys)

Siberian bugloss (Brunnera macrophylla)

The flowers are very similar to Myosotis, but the leaves are quite different.

Blue pulmonaria/Lungwort/Jerusalem cowslip (Pulmonaria angustifolia “Blue Ensign”)

Iris

All of these flowers are in bloom at the moment… some in the “uncultivated” part of the garden!

  1. The blue flower – famous in the period of german Romanticism (literature). I like these blue-coloured flowers. Unsere Iris blühen noch nicht.

    • Our iris only started opening on Friday. A few more are open today. The blue flower is full of symbolism in England too. Maybe will do a post on it one day! Thanks Herbstbaum! 🙂

  2. your camera serves great cathy, it eloquently translates the beauty of these flowers…by the way, forget-me-not was mentioned in one of my poems, though it was not the main subject, mentioning it gave me such chills..will post it in near future 🙂
