It’s still cold and grey (or white), but the days are getting longer and spring can’t be too far away… and you have a lovely view whatever the weather!
I love the white days of winter–we are in the brown days. Dusty and dry and windy and cold. Everything has a film of sandy soil and we are in need of a good snow or rain to wash it away.
Having grown up in a subtropical climate, I never understood winter blues until I moved to places where winter has its grip on you for months. Spring, come on over!
It’s true – they have been cosseted most of the winter… and I suppose it’s a great excuse for not removing all the leaves and winter debris from the ground yet! 😀
We typically have more snow in the north than the south but for the last couple of years all that has changed. We were forecast some more snow on Sunday but it amounted to nothing, then on Monday I traveled to London for work and everything just went white! The further south I got the more snow I saw, it was weird! Normally when I come down here it’s warmer than up north at home but not this time around. I’m glad I brought my wooly jumper! The days are getting longer though, the nights are light at 5.30pm and that fills me with joy but I don’t think the cold temperature is going anywhere fast and a ‘London Cabby’ told me he thought it would be cold all throughout March!
Winter definitely seems to be dragging on here as well, but I’m trying to console myself that my crocuses will be waking up and blooming in less than two months…that’s something to look forward to! 🙂
Well, I have to say the snow looks okay, it IS still winter! I had to break out the hose today for my evergreens. It is really getting dry around here and very cold so the evergreens are getting winter burn on the needles of some species. I would rather have a bit of snow!
It’s good to see your garden still in winter, as it should be. We are still getting wet, mild weather and things are starting to wake up too early.
You’re right – it should still be winter. Wish we could fast forward a couple of weeks though!

Yes, the view is lovely… we go round the garden with the dogs at night and the snow looks so pretty by torchlight!
Winter is still here also!
Love your photos!

I suppose it’s normal – but I’m getting impatient to go out in the garden!

I should be grateful that we have snow and not rain at least… but spring would be welcome soon!

I’m ready for it – winter’s been long and gloomy enough!
I´ve had it with the snow. Where is spring????
It’s waiting somewhere and will surprise us soon, I hope!
Me too!!!
It’s in central Texas. That’s why I left the Northeast (U.S.) decades ago.
A wise move, Steve. But don’t you miss real winters sometimes?
Maybe for a few hours once a year, just long enough to take pictures, after which I’d be miraculously transported back to someplace warm
I keep telling myself, “It’s good for the plants to have a snow blanket…”
Someday, I’ll believe it!

The snow is lovely. It was sunny and gorgeous earlier this morning but clouds are moving in for more days of rain. Happy Darwin Day!
I had no idea there was a “Darwin Day”! Thanks Susie!
I’m more than ready to put winter to bed now Cathy. We have more snow forecast for tomorrow but I doubt whether we will see as much as you.
Our forecast is grey skies and snowy showers for another week… Let’s hope they’re wrong!

And you can’t argue with a London cabby! 😉 I can notice the days getting longer too, but I’d love a little sunshine to make the snow sparkle!
Yep I have had it with winter…over it…12 feet and counting and now we are getting ice…time for spring!
Well, it must come to an end pretty soon Donna. We just have to sit it out!
ciao! i am there…breathtaking.

Thank you – glad you stopped by.
It’s been raining here this week and my jonquil sprouts are starting to flower early this year.
That is early. I’m still waiting for the snowdrops to open. The shoots have been up for ages, but it’s been too cold and snowy.
Winter definitely seems to be dragging on here as well, but I’m trying to console myself that my crocuses will be waking up and blooming in less than two months…that’s something to look forward to! 🙂
That somehow seems a long time to wait. I admire your optimism and take a lesson from it Sheryl! 😀

We had a very cold and dry winter last year, and a lot of evergreens suffered. There’s still time for snow where you are… or at least a little rain? 😀
