Well, it’s still very cold here. The official reports say that the north of Germany had the coldest month of March in over 130 years… here in the south it was not quite that bad, but still unseasonally cool!
A few flowers are finally braving the icy north-east wind…
And like me, they are ever optimistic that some warm sunshine will eventually come…
Spring is certainly on its way – just a little slower than usual! 😀
Is it finally warming up where you are? Or is there still snow in the air, like here?
Thank you for the amazing photos and the descriptions.
Thanks for your nice comment John.
Can you believe we went from 50 to 20 and a major snow storm with another foot of snow in April….grrrrr
Oh Donna, I feel for you! Hope it warms up for you soon!
Everywhere the weather is changing. Yesterday it was 70 and today it’s 55 with rain on the way. I think April is uncertain, but I’m sure May will bring an abundance of flowers with all the trees green.
It will Mary, and I look forward to that. April does seem unpredictable, like you say.
Ha! Well…it was 90 F last week. Awful. I’d like to be where you are where you have seasons. And rain. And snow. And flowers.
There seems to be a down side wherever we live! They say “the grass is always greener on the other side”. LOL!
It was warm for a couple of days, but back below freezing today…It’ll get here, just slower than usual.
Love your flowers!
Thanks Marie. The daffodils should be coming out soon too. 😀
Oh, there are colours! 🙂
Yes, at last some relief from black and white, and grey! 😀
Your crocus and snowdrops are beautiful! Hold on, warmth will come.
Thanks for your encouraging words Jason!
European weather seems to be breaking records all over this year. We are having more cloud and rain than usual and the temperature fluctuates hugely. I look forward to more settled weather.
April is usually a mix anyway, but I just hope the wind will change soon and bring warm rainshowers and a little sunshine!
Beautiful little flowers–colorful and bright!
Yes, very cheering. And even the snowdrops are still hanging on. 😀
Spring is definitely on it’s way. I’m optimistic! 😉
I think we have no alternative but to be patient and hopeful… 😉
Lovely to see the spring flowers. The coldest March for 130 years is impressive – but probably not very welcome. Still bitterly cold here, but we’re told it’s going to get warmer next week, or maybe the week after…
Perhaps we should just wrap up very warm and brave the chill and get outside gardening… the best therapy! I have so much to do, and I know when it finally does warm up I’ll run out of time!
Your spring bulbs popping up are a hope for me…we are cold here again today. With a very sharp NE wind.
Still it is spring…that can’t be taken away…I hope!

The wind is icy here too – can’t be long now till the milder weather sets in. The bulbs really lift the spirits, and I bought some small daffodils for our Easter table – having flowers indoors too is very cheering. 😀
We are beginning to have +10C these days.. but no pretty signs of flowers like you have. Those would definitely cheer things up!
Not long now Barb, and then everything will flower at once! 😀
The flowers are brave to poke out their little heads in that kind of cold. But they are just too beautiful to hide! 🙂
The waiting has made me appreciate them all the more!
I met a couple from Germany yesterday and they said that a lot of the trains were cancelled due to the cold weather! Great to see a bit of colour in your garden 🙂
I didn’t hear about the trains, but the north had loads of snow so I’m not surprised!
Oh my! I can only imagine the cold as we have been having a warm spring here along the central coast of California. The flowers poking their delightful heads above the cold earth are sure signs that spring will find it’s way!
Isn’t it always amazing that they manage to come up again despite the cold and frost! 😀
Slowly warming up on this side of the Channel Cathy but we still have to hit double digit day time temperatures. Rumour has it that might happen next week. We have had the coldest March since 1962 which I can just about remember 🙂 Your post ends on a most heartwarming spring scene.
It is exactly the same here Anna – no chance of it warming up much for at least a week! Still – time for some spring-cleaning in the house before the garden season begins! 😉
Gorgeous Germany! My niece just got back from there as a student in an exchange program, she loved it and brought back a visiting boyfriend! 😉
Well, it is certainly a lovely country – just very cold at the moment! 😉
Your photos are wonderful – it’s so lovely to see all that colour! 🙂
Thanks Sheryl – it IS good to see the world in colour again!
Awwww….some spring showing up after all that snow. 🙂 Beautiful!
It’s still cold here though! 😉
