Tuesday at Two (May 21st)

The weather has been quite a mix this last week – but the garden has enjoyed the sunshine and rain. I cheated a little with the photo today as at 2pm it was just starting to rain again, and looked quite gloomy – so this picture was taken at around 3.30pm… sun and stormy skies after the shower!

And here’s a closer look at the rockery directly below me when I took this photo…

  1. The weather is changeable everywhere at the moment. I don’t mind that you took the image a bit later than usual, if you hadn’t told us we wouldn’t have known. Christina

  2. You have the makings of a book here, with your weekly photos showing the progression of the seasons – maybe one of those books that you flick through and see the picture changing?

  3. Cathy, your view is just gorgeous and it’s nice to see the close-up too. We had similar weather today with gray skies, then a sun shower, finally sun. Happy gardening. Isn’t it a wonderful time of year?

    • Yes, wonderful. It is so green and lush this spring – the garden is loving the showers, and I’m so enjoying the garden and surrounding trees.

  4. I like both of your garden views! Your garden sheltered by the surrounding trees emanates stillness and peace even when the skies are stormy. And your rockery is growing more and more beautiful during the years. The neighbourhood of the dark iris and these cheerfully coloured tulips is very lovely.

    • Thanks Elisabeth. πŸ˜€ The iris and tulips were happy coincidence, and you’re right – the rockery on this side is finally getting established and looks best in spring.

    • It has been very damp this spring which is great for the garden… it would be nice to have a few warmer dry days for the gardener though! πŸ˜‰

  5. Gorgeous! We have the Lilacs in bloom and everything else looking to peek out well the Bleeding hearts and Lily of The Valley are doing there thing as well as the creeping phlox Hosta is getting HUGE time for more of my show and tell πŸ™‚

I learned a new beading step yesterday too LOVE IT!
