Tuesday View (4th February)

I will not complain about the weather this week… ๐Ÿ˜‰

Today’s view is preceded for a change by a photo of a lovely surprise discovered under the leaf mulch the other day…

Primula2

… and a nice fat Hellebore bud!

Here’s the view…

And finally, another primula, but one I bought recently for displaying on the patio… I love this shade of pink!

Have you got any primulas flowering yet?

  1. Nice to see your sunny photos; here it is predominately still rain but there was sun this morning for a couple of hours. I should buy some primulars, they are cheering in February.

    • There was no sun Christina, but it was a bit brighter this afternoon! Every little spot of colour is definitely cheering, and primulas are a must at this time of year! ๐Ÿ˜€

  2. I have some primulas flowering just now. I like the all yellow ones in particular. I have some red tipped, yellow ones which are great multipliers but I am running out of places to put them. I feel wicked to throw a plant away but I have visions of the garden being covered in red and yellow primulas if I don’t.

    • LOL! You could pot some up and have a sale! We don’t really have primula soil around here, and I have never seen wild ones, but I do love the traditional yellow ones most too.

    • I cheated and got this at the flower shop a couple of weeks ago! The garden is still a little bleak, but there are signs of life when I look really closely! ๐Ÿ˜‰

    • I really do hope we get some sunshine in the next few days. I don’t think spring is quite here yet, but winter is definitely on the way out! ๐Ÿ˜€

  3. That primula is so pretty – I can see why you bought it! We have just one primrose flowering in the garden. It’s a bit tatty after all the wind and rain, but still determinedly producing flowers.

    • Hi Susie. I think that golden Euonymous in the rockery view is really worth its weight in gold as it makes it look as if the sun is shining even on a dreary day!

      • I know what you mean Cathy it snowed all day and left us with 12 inches yesterday but today was gorgeous blue skies and brilliant SUNSHINE I hut too bad to tackle the roof and I know I will pay for it tomorrow but that is TOMORROW ๐Ÿ™‚

  4. I probably won’t see my primulas until April (if we’re lucky!). So lovely to see the signs of spring there, Cathy – it’s really bitterly cold and snowy here and we’re all wishing for a break. Have a great rest of your week!

    • Last winter lasted until Easter, so it’s a bit early really. I know that not much will happen in February if it stays cold though. I’m glad my little primula has brightened your day. Hope it warms up a little earlier for you this year!

  5. Brrr… That looks chilly, though I do love the way the pruned grey foliage mimics the grey rock in your view. There is something so wonderful about the sight of primroses blooming, the soft yellow is so cheerful, but not at all garish. Mine are flowering, a little, as are two of the hellebores – but I wish I had some fat buds on the others, they are not at all happy little plants!

    • I have some tiny weeny white hellebore buds too on cuttings a friend gave me two years ago. I hope they flower! I had a good look under the mulch, but there is very little else happening so far.
