I will not complain about the weather this week… 😉
Today’s view is preceded for a change by a photo of a lovely surprise discovered under the leaf mulch the other day…
… and a nice fat Hellebore bud!
Here’s the view…
And finally, another primula, but one I bought recently for displaying on the patio… I love this shade of pink!
Have you got any primulas flowering yet?
Nice to see your sunny photos; here it is predominately still rain but there was sun this morning for a couple of hours. I should buy some primulars, they are cheering in February.
There was no sun Christina, but it was a bit brighter this afternoon! Every little spot of colour is definitely cheering, and primulas are a must at this time of year! 😀
Nice surprises on your property! I love that shade of pink too! 😉
I’m hoping the last of the snow will melt quickly to reveal a few more “surprises”… who knows what’s under there!
I have some primulas flowering just now. I like the all yellow ones in particular. I have some red tipped, yellow ones which are great multipliers but I am running out of places to put them. I feel wicked to throw a plant away but I have visions of the garden being covered in red and yellow primulas if I don’t.
LOL! You could pot some up and have a sale! We don’t really have primula soil around here, and I have never seen wild ones, but I do love the traditional yellow ones most too.
Look at that gorgeous punk colour. I have nothing but green and brown in my garden 😦
I cheated and got this at the flower shop a couple of weeks ago! The garden is still a little bleak, but there are signs of life when I look really closely! 😉
Not yet! The pink primula is a delight
I’m going to plant it out as soon as the ground warms up a little, but it is nice to see it on the patio right now.
Nope – no primulas yet but hellebores and snowdrops. Good to see that somewhere there is winter Cathy.
I am still patiently waiting for my snowdrops to open… they want some warm sunshine!
Spring has sprung! Enjoy the sunshine and all those beautiful buds 🙂
I really do hope we get some sunshine in the next few days. I don’t think spring is quite here yet, but winter is definitely on the way out! 😀
That primula is so pretty – I can see why you bought it! We have just one primrose flowering in the garden. It’s a bit tatty after all the wind and rain, but still determinedly producing flowers.
They are tough little things aren’t they! I also have just the one in the garden. Still, there’ll be more colour very soon I’m sure.
Nothing blooming at all here! Everything is still dormant. I love the Hellebore flowers, I am hoping for a lot of new plants this year from seed. 🙂 A lot of fog here this morning and again tonight.
It’s foggy here too today – again! Looks very similar to your post at the moment! 😉
Beautiful, beautiful. Love the primulas (not sure these grow well here, but should check). Your view looks very cheerful too.
Hi Susie. I think that golden Euonymous in the rockery view is really worth its weight in gold as it makes it look as if the sun is shining even on a dreary day!
Hurray for weather. What gorgeous photos, too. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you – glad you enjoyed the photos!
Nothing here in Ottawa yet (to be expected). Still a fair blanket of snow covering the ground. A nice reminder of what’s to come though!
We’ve had barely any snow and lots of overcast damp weather this winter – good for the garden, but not so good for me! Thanks for visiting!
It’s official – you’re done with Real Winter!
I should check into primulas…I’ve only seen them sold as houseplants here. Do they get eaten by mice and rabbits?
The mice here have never touched them, but I don’t know about rabbits as we don’t have any… worth a try I’d say!
That’s a nice primula. We have Primula veris and they won’t flower for another while but there’s lots to cherish…spring is not far 😉
I look forward to seeing cowslips Annette – one of my favourite spring flowers. 😀
I don’t have any primulas, but if they did they would be buried under feet of snow. That you’ve found some blooming makes me happy though. The white one is really lovely.
Normally we would have snow and ice too at this time of year… Glad I could share my primula with you, and hope your weather warms up soon.
Goodness no but happy to see you are getting some color 🙂 Have an awesome weekend Cathy.
Thanks Eunice. You too! We had sunshine today – I was so happy to see the sun was still up there! LOL!
I know what you mean Cathy it snowed all day and left us with 12 inches yesterday but today was gorgeous blue skies and brilliant SUNSHINE I hut too bad to tackle the roof and I know I will pay for it tomorrow but that is TOMORROW 🙂
I probably won’t see my primulas until April (if we’re lucky!). So lovely to see the signs of spring there, Cathy – it’s really bitterly cold and snowy here and we’re all wishing for a break. Have a great rest of your week!
Last winter lasted until Easter, so it’s a bit early really. I know that not much will happen in February if it stays cold though. I’m glad my little primula has brightened your day. Hope it warms up a little earlier for you this year!
Lovely! Everything! Can’t wait to get some primulas!
They are such cheerful flowers aren’t they! Have a great weekend Andrea!
No flowers yet, only leaves – hopefully soon!
I hope so too Simone. I’ve been checking my snowdrops daily… buds but nothing opening yet. We need some more sunshine!
Brrr… That looks chilly, though I do love the way the pruned grey foliage mimics the grey rock in your view. There is something so wonderful about the sight of primroses blooming, the soft yellow is so cheerful, but not at all garish. Mine are flowering, a little, as are two of the hellebores – but I wish I had some fat buds on the others, they are not at all happy little plants!
I have some tiny weeny white hellebore buds too on cuttings a friend gave me two years ago. I hope they flower! I had a good look under the mulch, but there is very little else happening so far.
I love pink primulas…love to see mine…maybe they have buds under all the snow.
I shall plant this one out in a couple of weeks and hope it will pop up again next year!
