HAPPY NEW YEAR!
I hope you all have a fabulous gardening year; with no moles or voles or rats or rabbits, plenty of warm sunshine and gentle rain, and lots of birds and bees and butterflies!
Looking at the garden on New Year’s Eve, with all this snow, it’s hard to believe it will ever be green again…
But soon I will see this when I look out of my window…
And before I know it I will be seeing this…
Savour every minute of every day.
Happy 2015!
π
You certainly have plenty of snow, it’s good to look back over the year, I’d forgotten just how many flowers there are over the year! Happy New Year Cathy to you and yours and I hope it is a wonderful gardening year for us all!
Thanks Pauline – same to you and hope you have a great year in your garden too!
Happy New Year Cathy, wow you do have alot of snow! Here it is ivy cold with tempeatures dipping to minus 5 and not much higher during the day. It very good to think of spring.
It’s melting! They have forecast a bit more, but it isn’t quite so cold now thank goodness. Have a good weekend Christina!
Happy New Year to you! π
Happy New Year! π
wonderful gallery and best wishes for 2015, regards Mitza
Thank you Mitza. All the best for you too. π
Same to you Cathy! Echo your comment about savouring every day!
π Hope 2015 gets off to a good start for you Lindsay!
Happy New Year!
Thank you Cindy! And to you! π
Love the snow, Happy New Year Cathy!! π
More on the way today Michael, but not as cold as last week. Have a great weekend!
Great advice! Going to cook something savory right away! π
π That is a good interpretation Lori!
The snow is beautiful as is the promise of green views in the spring. Happy New Year!
Happy New Year Susie! I do like the snow, but the world is very colourless at the moment, so some green would be nice soon. π
A wonderful ode to new beginnings Cathy! Happy New Year!
Thank you Deb! Happy New Year to you too!
Happy New Year, Cathy! Snow is falling here as I write…a beautiful quiet day.
How lovely Sheryl. We had some similar days recently. The snow makes every sound muffled and the roads were quiet. Happy New Year!
Absolutely no snow on the ground here, though we are in a deep freeze. Happy New Year to you!
Thanks Jason, and to you and yours! I’d rather have snow than permafrost!
Happy New Year Cathy. Looking forward to the Spring .
Happy New Year Chloris. Spring is really close now… only a couple of months to go I hope!
You forgot about the squirrels Cathy π You certainly have had a good layer of snow but everything underneath will be keeping most cosy. Happy New Year to you.
Oh yes, although the squirrels in my garden are not really a problem. We managed to salvage quite a few hazelnuts for ourselves this year! I’m glad we had snow before it got cold, as it really does make a difference to the ground temperature, but it is already melting as temperatures hover around and just above freezing point. Happy New Year Anna!
Hope we all have a lovely garden season. Happy New Year garden friend!
Thanks Stacey – and to you too! π
Happy New Year Cathy! What a wonderful snowy image, it does transform the landscape so dramatically. There is snow on the nearby mountains on the mainland but none at all here, nor do I expect any (famous last words…)
I look forward to following your garden adventure in 2015! And to getting more yummy recipes…
Happy New Year Janet! I must admit the snow, which is now a sloshy mess, has dampened my enthusiasm a bit. If it was cold and frozen I could enjoy it more! Still, at least it brightens things up a bit until the extra daylight starts to kick in. π
Happy New Year to you in your beautiful snowy garden. I am looking forward to more inspiring ideas and photographs from it in 2015. Amelia
Happy New Year Amelia! Hope it’s a good year for blossoms and bees in your garden!
Happy 2015!
The spring and summer photos sure don’t make me look forward to more snow. Maybe I do need to thinking about moving to warmer climes π
Happy New Year Frank! Yes, I occasionally wonder if a warmer climate might be nice. But the snow won’t last long and I am still convinced it’s going to be a short winter for us all! π
Happy New Year!!!!
And to you Simone! π
Those are good “contrasting” photographs. π
Thanks. Can’t wait to see a bit of green again!
Happy New Year Cathy…we have snow again and then sleet on top of that and freezing rain on top of that and then rain…it is a soggy mess, but I love the look of it and know it is nourishing my garden!
Hi Donna. Sounds much like our weather at the moment too. It’s slushy and muddy out there! π
Happy New Year!!
And to you Phil!
Happy New Year Cathy to you and yours.
And to you Eunice!
Happy New Year! Going through my photos is a great way to remind myself of how much is growing in my garden even though it looks so empty now. Great post to remind us of what’s to come. π
Happy New Year! Yes, it’s good to be reminded isn’t it. π
You are beating us in the snow contest, we got a measly 1″ today and that is all there is. But it is bitter cold tonight at -14C.
And here it is a slushy mess now; at around 0 degrees the whole time it isn’t really freezing, but it isn’t really melting either! Stay warm!
Savouring…
Have a good 2015 Alys!
