Okay, it’s a fake. How did you guess! 😉
Nicer than what is out there right now though.
And better than nothing!
Actually this vase is from last June.
Roll on summer!
Spring wouldn’t be too bad either…
Go and visit Cathy at Rambling in the Garden for some REAL February vases. 🙂
I started thinking, WOW. And then…SUPER MARKET. And now the truth. REPEATS.
Never mind…they look lovely.
Thanks John. I just didn’t want to miss a week! 😉
Winter can seem very long.
Like eternity… 😉
Ha, I thought they were silk at first – best faux flowers ever.
🙂 Last week I even considered sticking some silk flowers in the remaining snow in the garden!
Sometimes evergreens just don’t cut it!
My thought was: even Southern California can’t compete with that! I hope your temperatures warm up and your spring flowers arrive soon, Cathy.
Thank you Kris. Not long to wait now.
June looks smashing, Cathy! 🙂
I’d even be happy with late March Dina! 😉
😀
A little hint of what’s to come is just what we need right now!
Exactly – a little reminder that the garden will one day be green and colourful again!
One of the reasons for taking photographs in the summer is to view them in the winter. Lovely vases, by the way, showing the flowers off so well. Roll on summer certainly.
You are right Ian – It certainly cheered me up picking out these sunny photos last night!
I briefly wondered whether you had been carried away on a magic carpet Cathy to far off exotic climes. Once that start button is pressed spring will soon get out of the starting blocks but a bit of time travel in the meantime is an excellent idea methinks.
Yes, I got impatient waiting for something to appear out of the ground. Even my hellebore buds are still tiny!
Oh, please don’t wish your life away Cathy – as long as we know that spring will indeed follow every winter we know it’s not too long a time to wait…
I have plenty to keep me occupied indoors until it warms up anyway Cathy, but it does seem to be taking longer this year… Nice to think of what’s to come though!
I feel the same as you, Spring would be very nice and we shall feel such joy!
Some years I have had flowers and even butterflies and bees in February, but this year we are a bit behind. Can’t be long now though!
It´s so funny – winter is a fake – lol !
Well, with all the fake news around I thought I could add to the confusion! 😉 LOL!
Winter makes spring all the sweeter! It is coming! Viewing the color filled photos has me dreaming of sunshine.
At least we do have sunshine this week, and it should warm up to double figures (10°C) too. So spring should be here really soon Deb!
I can wait on summer, but spring sure looks great about now!
Daffodils and tulips would cheer up my garden no end. Hope to get out and do some tidying this week though so that when those shoots do appear they will stand out even more. 🙂
Your post sure gave me a start… April Fool’s Day six week’s early!
LOL! I thought I’d contribute to all that fake news that is making the headlines… 😉
Haha – at least I LIKE your fake news.
We had a very spring like day yesterday, warm and sunny with golden catkins dancing in the breeze, but today is wet and grey.
The catkins aren’t quite dancing here yet, but we did have higher temperatures today: 8°C (plus!), which is the warmest this year so far! 🙂
Wishing you a bit of sunshine and warmth, Cathy! It’s gone a bit grey even here, but that is because we are still getting some much-appreciated rainfall – so no complaints 😉 I do look forward to seeing your daffodils begin to bloom!
And here is my Tuesday View…: https://www.smallsunnygarden.com/2017/02/14/tuesday-view-early-spring/
Now I wonder whether I should be posting this! 😉
It has warmed up a bit more, but the ground is still frozen just below the surface, so those shoots I can see are not growing yet. Not long now though. Good to hear you are getting some rain Amy! 🙂
I tidied my view up today and it is looking so triste still… nice to see yours so green and fesh!
Oh dear, I hope your spring blooms arrive soon, though your ‘pretend’ vases are wonderful to behold!
I am waiting with bated breath for the first crocus to open… 🙂
I hope they don’t keep you waiting too long! I don’t plant crocuses myself (too many squirrels) but there are millions in our local park and their colours are just starting to show.
It’s like they say – ‘a watched pot never boils’… I have been checking on those tiny shoots again and again since discovering them yesterday morning!
If we can sing about “dreaming of a white Christmas,” we can dream about spring and summer! Your beautiful vase from months before is a lovely reminder of what we have to look forward to! I hope you definitely see an early spring, Cathy! 🙂
Oh yes, ‘I’m dreaming of a green Springtime, with every tiny seed I sow…’ LOL! I hope you are still above water Debra. Your state has been on our news with the Oroville dam threatening to break.
It’ s nice to remember the abundant vases of June in February. Yesterday the sun shone here, a very unfamiliar sight. The temperature shot up to the dizzy height of 9 degrees.
Almost tropical! We had the same today, which got everyone smiling! 🙂
Oh that was a great idea. I missed this week. ‘Come on Spring we all cry!
Not long to wait now, surely!
They’re beautiful, whatever month they’re from.
Thanks Jason!
You had me going! Thanks for the smile, Cathy. I’m glad to see you are dreaming of spring and summer. February is often the time when we’re longing for the spring that seems months away, yet it will be on us soon. I hope yours arrives early or on time.
Glad it made you smile Alys! Looking through last year’s photos was very therapeutic. I have one single snowdrop trying to open, so that is a good sign! Hope you are safe – your latest storm doesn’t sound very nice at all.
Cathy, it is therapeutic looking back on greener days. It’s a nice reminder of what’s to come, and of the pleasure we’ve had in the past. We’re enjoying a couple of dry days here in San Jose. The flood waters have not fully receded, but a few residents have been allowed to return home. The cleanup efforts will be quite a task.
